Hong Kong: CASBAA has announced the addition of four Corporate members as of January 2010 – European news channel France 24; global video, media data and advertising solutions provider Concurrent; global media company News Corporation and K+, a platform joint venture between Vietnamese broadcaster VTV and French pay-TV group Canal Plus.
Meanwhile, four CASBAA members have upgraded their memberships to Patron Status: Global pay-TV networks operator AETN International; Paris-based satellite services and solutions provider Arianespace; UK-based channel operator BBC Worldwide Channels Asia and US-based content and security solutions provider Verimatrix.
“The CASBAA Board of Directors is especially delighted to welcome membership growth across the subscription TV value chain, highlighting the importance of our alliance between the platform, content, services and technology sectors,” said Simon Twiston Davies, CEO CASBAA.
“With markets becoming ever more complex and more competitive it becomes increasingly important to develop industry positions to the benefit of all stakeholders.”
It is going to be a busy year for CASBAA in 2010. “The Association has scheduled more industry events, publications and closed door meetings than ever before supported by the CASBAA committee system,” said Twiston Davies.
In terms of events CASBAA will examine items such as the Indian satellite services market; the business model for mobile services; the Vietnamese pay-TV model; the regional satellite industry sector; the business of casual gaming; content security; online video services in China, as well as pay-TV advertising in Singapore and Thailand.
