Boosted by outstanding performances from its Thursday and Friday night franchises, Cartoon Network's prime time performance rocketed to robust double-digit delivery and ratings gains across all target kid demos vs. the same time period last year, according to preliminary data from Nielsen Media Research. With 12%-17% growth across kids 6-11, kids 2-11 and tweens 9-14, Cartoon Network's prime time increases reflected the power of its newest original series, The Marvelous Misadventures of Flapjack (Thursday, 8:30 p.m.), Chowder (Thursday, 8 p.m.) and Ben 10: Alien Force (Saturday, 9:30 p.m.), each of which earned significant double-digit delivery and ratings gains compared to the same time periods last year among key kid demos.
Additionally, Cartoon Network's newest prime time franchise, Har Har Tharsdays (7:30-10 p.m.), charted its best performance among kids 6-11 since the network's new Thursday night emphasis on comedy cartoons launched on March 6. Standing out among its programming block, The Marvelous Misadventures of Flapjack ranked #1 in its time period compared to all other broadcast and basic cable competition with kids 6-11, kids 2-11, boys 6-11, boys 2-11 and boys 9-14, earning triple-digit delivery and ratings growth. Friday night franchise Fried Dynamite (7-11 p.m.) also scored tremendous delivery and ratings games across all kid demos compared to last year.
