Moser Baer Entertainment releases the zany Sankat City

Moser Baer Entertainment has lined up the countrywide release of its home production Sankat City tomorrow. Produced by Moser Baer in association with Seven Entertainment, the film starring Kay Kay, Anupam Kher, Rimmi Sen, Chunky Pandey, Rahul Dev, Dilip Prabhavalkar, Yashpal Shama and others is directed by Pankaj Advani, and puts together an odd assortment of characters—a car thief, a con woman, a gangster, a film producer, a builder, a mechanic, a prostitute, and others—in a racy entertainer. Sankat City is Moser Baer’s second Hindi film production after the much-acclaimed Shaurya last year. The company has also produced three Tamil films so far: Raman Thediya Seethai, Poo and Abhiyum Nanum.

Commenting on the new release, Harish Dayani, CEO, Moser Baer Entertainment, said: “Moser Baer Entertainment’s aim is make quality popular content available to Indian consumers and this film is an attempt in that direction. With acting talent like Kay Kay, Rimmi Sen, Anupam Kher and Chunky Pandey and with the directorial capabilities of young Pankaj Advani, we are confident the film will entertain viewers.”

The film’s lead actor Kay Kay said: “Sankat City has been a memorable journey for me and for the entire crew of the film. Personally what interested me the most was the plot and the character I play named Guru. I thoroughly enjoyed working on the film and I hope the audience will like the film, which is a rare combination of a thoroughly entertaining film which is also intelligent.”

Rimmi Sen says: “I am really excited about the movie and have enjoyed shooting for the movie. Sankat City is a situational comedy but still very sensible.”
