New Delhi : After anchoring "Aap Ki Kachheri-Aap Ki Dwaar", former IPS officer-turned-TV anchor Kiran Bedi has set up a workshop to train people in dispute resolution to help build a better society.

Apart from the NGO, Navjyoti Foundation, the STAR Plus serial "Aap Ki Kachheri-Aap Ki Dwaar", is also supported by the Central Social Welfare Board, the National Commission for Women and the Delhi Commission for Women.

Together they will train 30 people who have experience of a few years in dispute resolution and meditation.

"'Aap Ki Kachehri' has been through a journey of resolving many cases which have been extremely challenging and difficult. We have attempted to resolve conflicts through a participatory and unbiased process and would now like more people to become a part of this initiative," said Kiran Bedi in a statement released here Thursday.

The first two training sessions will be conducted in New Delhi Sep 30 and Oct 1 and in Lucknow Oct 12 and Oct 13 respectively.

"With this initiative, we aim to celebrate families and togetherness by bringing families and the community together," said Anupam Vasudev, STAR India's executive vice-president marketing.

"We believe that peaceful societies are most happy and productive societies and this is a step towards building family bonds which are stronger than ever before," he added.
